Master PoE 2 0.5.5 Bomba Totem Gemling Legionnaire | U4GM Guide The Bomba Totem Gemling Legionnaire is a fun way to play a grenade-focused Mercenary in Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5.5. Instead of standing still and firing crossbow attacks nonstop, you place artillery totems and let them do the work. The combination of Mortar Cannon and Cluster Grenade creates a constant stream of explosions, making this setup particularly enjoyable for fast mapping. Before upgrading your gear, having enough POE 2 Orbs for basic crafting and equipment improvements can make the early transition into endgame much smoother. How the Bomba Totem Build Works The main idea is simple: use Mortar Cannon to summon Ballista Totems, then have those totems repeatedly fire the grenade skill linked to them. Cluster Grenade is the key part of the setup because one explosion can split into several smaller grenades. When multiple Mortar Cannons are active, the battlefield quickly fills with overlapping explosions. This works especially well in crowded maps. You can drop a few cannons near a pack, move away from danger, and let the totems clear enemies while you reposition. Against tougher rares and bosses, placing several cannons around the target gives you much better damage uptime than relying on a single totem. Why Choose Gemling Legionnaire? Gemling Legionnaire fits the build because its Ascendancy provides strong interactions with skill gems. Nodes such as Gem Studded and Advanced Thaumaturgy can improve the value of your gem investment, making support gems and gem quality more meaningful as the character develops. The Ascendancy also gives the build room to scale without forcing players into an extremely complicated rotation. This is one reason the setup feels comfortable for players who like the Mercenary class but want a more relaxed approach to combat. Core Skills and Support Gems Mortar Cannon is the engine of the build, while Cluster Grenade supplies most of the explosive damage. Several support gems are particularly useful: • Urgent Totems helps improve the feel of your artillery setup. • Payload can add more opportunities for grenade explosions. • Multishot increases projectile coverage and improves clear speed. • Magnified Area gives the explosions a larger coverage area. • Additional damage supports can be introduced later when your defenses and resource sustain are already comfortable. A Siege Crossbow is also a natural weapon choice because its additional grenade projectile works nicely with this setup. When upgrading your weapon and support gems, players looking to buy POE 2 Orbs can focus their budget on the upgrades that provide the biggest improvement to clear speed or boss damage first. Defensive Setup and Gear Priorities Bomba Totem is not a pure glass-cannon build. You still need enough defenses to survive while your cannons are doing their job. Reverie is particularly useful because it can turn flask recovery into a more consistent source of sustain. Shavronne's Satchel can become an attractive upgrade later by extending this recovery concept toward Energy Shield. For regular gear, prioritize: • Maximum Life or Energy Shield • Capped elemental resistances • Chaos Resistance • Movement Speed • Useful flask modifiers • Gem-related bonuses where available • Damage and projectile improvements after your defenses are stable There is little reason to chase expensive damage upgrades while your character is still dying regularly. Spending some cheap POE 2 Orbs on fixing resistance gaps and improving basic equipment can often provide a bigger practical benefit than immediately replacing every damage item. Bomba Totem Gameplay Tips The gameplay loop is one of the best parts of this build. Start by placing your Mortar Cannons near the enemies, then immediately reposition instead of waiting for every explosion to finish. Your totems continue attacking while you move, so there is no need to stand directly beside the pack. For larger groups, spread your cannons across the area rather than stacking them in exactly the same position. This gives you better coverage and makes it easier to deal with enemies approaching from different directions. Utility skills can also be adjusted to personal preference. Orb of Storms, Infernal Cry, Shockwave Totem, and various crowd-control options can provide additional utility when the situation calls for them.
