As Diablo 4 evolves in Season 9, players are increasingly looking for the best combinations of gear and skills to enhance their performance. Among the diverse range of available Mythic items, some have proven to be less advantageous than others. Despite the appeal of high Diablo 4 Items levels and impressive abilities, there are specific Mythic items that should be avoided entirely.

Mythic of the Frozen Throne
The Mythic of the Frozen Throne is one of those items that appears impressive in theory but underperforms in practice. Its bonus effect provides additional cold damage to all your attacks, while the secondary effect creates an icy aura that freezes nearby enemies. Although freezing seems powerful, this Mythic significantly restricts your mobility. Throughout the game, you'll realize that being slowed by the freezing aura is a substantial hindrance to your combat strategy, especially during intense encounters where positioning is vital.

Mythic of the Cursed Moon
This item can mislead players who wish to depend on crowd control abilities. The Mythic of the Cursed Moon curses enemies around you, causing them to take increased damage over time. At first glance, this seems beneficial, but in reality, the damage scaling does not justify the effort needed to maintain the curse on multiple targets. Additionally, the curse has an irritating cooldown that does not work well with builds aimed at rapid damage.

Mythic of the Enslaved Flame
The Mythic of the Enslaved Flame presents an appealing bonus: it boosts your fire damage while offering passive health regeneration whenever you deal fire damage. However, this comes with a highly frustrating drawback—the more fire damage you inflict, the more resistant your enemies become over time. This debuff accumulates quickly, diminishing the effectiveness of your fire-based attacks. This is particularly detrimental in extended fights, where you may struggle to deliver consistent damage.

Mythic of the Bloodbound Pact
While the Mythic of the Bloodbound Pact provides a significant increase in life steal and damage output, it comes at a steep cost. The S9 best items significantly reduces your defense, leaving you highly susceptible to incoming damage. Although life steal may help you regain some health, it is insufficient to compensate for the considerable decrease in survivability. In high-level encounters, the combination of lowered defense and increased damage output can be catastrophic.

Mythic of the Dark Dominion
Lastly, the Mythic of the Dark Dominion serves as another example of a Mythic that seems to pose more challenges than benefits. It offers a temporary buff that enhances your damage output but also reduces your healing effectiveness during its duration. While this may be advantageous in extremely high DPS builds, the lack of sustainable healing renders it risky in longer battles.
