On February 27th 2018 the US Business Department made an announcement to take high taxes on China aluminum foil. The announcement declared that China had been “dumping” its aluminum foil to America and American importers had enjoyed too much subsidy in the past. Therefore, the department decides to take double taxes to fight against the dumping. Two taxes, anti-dumping tax and anti-subsidy tax, will be taken doubly in the future.
The American Aluminum Association applauded for the decision, declaring that in the past decade China exported its aluminum foil of low prices to the US with increasing amount each year, which led to close up of many local small scale companies. China, however, regards the verdict as unreasonable and against WTO rules, expressing strong dissatisfaction against “business protection” of American administration.
